Hi there! Nice to meet you!
I'm Lynda. I'm Canadian. Like the rest of my country men and women, in 2017 we've been encouraged to celebrate our country's 150th birthday. However, for myself, I've found the request challenging, because for as much as I love this wonderful country of ours, I've spent much time over the last few years learning and educating myself. That learning has left me in a dark place of contemplation. In discovering our history, in terms of how we have treated and impacted our Indigenous citizens and through following the work and findings of the TRC (Truth and Reconciliation Commission) I have felt compelled to do something more but have struggled with what. I listened to Gord Downie at the end of the final 'Hip' concert challenging us all to 'do better'. I've struggled with how I am going to be part of the greater change, but then I realized I can be part of change one person at a time, if others will do me the honor.
